Character Profiles

Youth in Asia

John Nash: The main protagonist of this title. John is one of the main eventers of an indie wrestling promotion called Triple X. Currently Nash has feuded with Genocide and "The Franchise" Dane Douglas, the Triple X Heavyweight Champion. Nash's style of wrestling is technical/ grappler combined with some high flying maneuvers, and a lot of hardcore attitude. Nash is also a super powered vigilante, defending the denizens of Apex City from street level crime. But very soon, young Nash will find a bigger challenge standing in his way then mere time limit battles for championship gold. Nash spends his down time with his girlfriend, Kyle, his sidekick, Agnew, their new puppy, Sabu and their group of friends.

Agnew Pennyworth: The Main Man and sidekick to Apex City's resident pigtailed vigilante. Agnew may look cute and cuddly, but he has resigned himself to hard work and even harder play. When not bounding rooftops with John Nash, Agnew likes to spend his time sleeping, playing with his new best buddy, Sabu and hanging out with Grrry. Agnew is the iconic character of the Anti-Hero Brand Press family of characters. Not only is he a mainstay in Youth in Asia, but he has spun off into his own book called, The Adventures of Agnew. His first book was a successful seller at conventions and shops alike in Got Crayons? The Adventures of Agnew Coloring Book. Agnew also has another title in the works which is set to be a train wreck called Fuzzyface, an amalgamation of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the beloved Muppets. Agnew is set to be a busy busy man.

Kyle Patrick: If Nash is the protagonist and Agnew is the icon, then Kyle is the glue that holds thewhole puzzle together. Nash's girlfriend, Kyle is a supportive, strong very compassionate woman. And she is most definitely NOT you comic book female. Kyle spends her time between working at a local comic book shop, owned by her best friend, Grrry, and wrestling for Triple X as "Kay Fabian," Nash's femme fatale chalet and Triple X Women's division top contender. Kyle also spends a large amount of time playing guitar for a local punk rock group called, The Step Monsters (think Rage Against the Machine with equal parts Kittie and Bikini Kill). And if that's not enough Kyle is getting a new role to play very soon in the pages of Youth in Asia. When Kyle has downtime she likes to spend it cuddling with Nash and Agnew, and their new puppy. Kyle also enjoys spending time at the various local watering holes in Apex City with her friends.

Grrry: The resident "bitch" of the Youth in Asia universe. And the only character who has both a criminal record and is likely to show you what she's been in handcuffs for if she is either attracted to you or you run afoul of her or her friends. Grrry is the talk first, worry about it later character who would give Courtney Love a run for her money. Grrry is the front woman for The Step Monsters and the owner of Hall of Justice Comics. Grrry is also a political activist in Apex City and routinely runs afoul of the mayor and his cabinet. Grrry is also part owner and performer for Triple X. People ask if she is a comic book version of Courtney Love. When in truth, I was probably channeling Wendy O. Williams of the Plasmatics.

"Em" Dorothy Emily James: Every group needs the quiet wallflower type. Em is a tattoo artist by trade and the bassist for the Step Monsters. She is also easily the most insecure and quiet member of the cadre. Em always read signals wrong from those she is interested in, and hilarity usually ensues, although it is usually at her expense. Em is Grrry's oldest friend. The two met in third grade and have been as close as any two friends could ever be. Grrry routinely sticks up for Em in times of stress and drunken stupidity, and usually is the first to berate her as well. These two are akin to Jay and Silent Bob. Cause when Em does speak, it's usually either funny or profound, although some stink nuggets come up here and there.

Jane Wickerman: The drummer for the Step Monsters and resident "straight man" of the group. Jane was in junior ROTC when enrolled at Rossdale High in Apex City, before being booted out for kicking the crap out of a CO. To her defense, Jane was sexually harassed by this CO and then when she went over his head to obtain an answer she was dismissed for blowing the whistle. Jane is the only member of the group of friends who does not have a tattoo, although she does sport a number of piercings. Jane joined the ragtag bunch of misfits while a junior at Rossdale High, just after becoming a pariah for beating up the captain of the football team (the CO who sexually harassed her). Jane is also dating another member of the group, Kevin. Jane and Em are roommates.

Kevin Eisner: The certified MENSA genius and also certified EMT, Kevin is also a master of thehacking arts. He has shown Nash how to utilize private government databases for his own means in his war on crime. Kevin took EMT courses while enrolled at Apex City Junior College when only 16. Kevin is a huge supporter of Nash and Agnew's vigilante crusade, as well as the manager of the Step Monsters. And above all else, Kevin is physically disabled. He is classified as a dwarf, but that hasn't stopped his from becoming a brown belt in Judo and red belt in Jeet KunDo.

Deadline: Assassin, hired by Cain to kill Nash. Deadline boasts the ability to redirect kinetic energy and has "hyper reflexes," or the ability to anything physically possible by another human that does not include feats of super strength, flight, or energy projection. Deadline brings to the table his training in the military in the classified Fifth Horseman Project and various human augmentations. Other than that, Deadline has spent significant time in both Mexico and Japan wrestling for various promotions.

Comedi-Ann: One of Deadline's cronies, Ann is one of a psychotic duo with her second, Andy, who bear a striking resemblance to a duo who brought delight to children everywhere for about a hundred years or more. Ann's level of psychotic violence is preceded only by her blatant use of her very strange British accent and vocabulary. It is not known is Ann is British by birth. And nobody has ever had the guts to question her about it. It is not known at this time if Ann possesses any superpowers other than her ability to drink massive amounts of alcohol.

Andy: Andy is the second to Comedi-Ann.They make up a motley duo with a Psycho-Billy-esque style. Andy handles a straight razor about as well as anybody, and is a mean drunk. The only soothing to this beast is Ann, and their strange relationship which has yet to be defined.

Lithium: A former resident of Norfolk Asylum, Lithium is former box office blockbuster actress, Halle Moore. During the filming of a large explosion in her last film, a piece of shrapnel scarred his million dollar face, driving her insane. Lithium was a champion sprinter in college and has a black belt in Muy Thai kick boxing. She also has what a number of Hollywood's leading men have described as "the strongest thighs in the business."

Cain: The puppet master in the shadows, Cain is the man who runs the underworld in Apex City. He is also the man who hired Deadline and his crew to dispatch young Nash. There is a war brewing in Apex City, and you can bet that Cain will not remain in the shadows behind some desk. A former Vietnam veteran and tops in his class in the classified Fifth Horseman Project, Cain is also the only man to ever survive and complete the Cerberus training a second level to the Fifth Horseman Project.
